Acceptable use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that supports the purpose of the Big Fun-raiser initiative, which is to encourage participation in physical activity and fundraising through linked platforms.
You must not:
- use the website, or any linked services, for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable laws or regulations
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, user accounts, or any systems connected to the website (including integrations with third-party platforms)
- introduce, transmit or distribute any viruses, malware or other harmful material
- attempt to interfere with, disrupt or manipulate the operation of the website or any connected platforms
- use automated systems (including scraping, bots or data mining tools) to access or extract data from the website or any connected services without our prior written consent
- upload, post or share any content that is abusive, offensive, defamatory, misleading or otherwise inappropriate
- submit false, misleading or manipulated information, including but not limited to:
- falsified activity data
- inaccurate or misleading fundraising claims or representations
- misuse or attempt to manipulate the tracking of physical activity or fundraising progress in order to gain an unfair advantage or misrepresent participation
- use the website in a way that infringes the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party, including content from Strava, iDonate or other third-party platforms or other users
- use the website in any way that could damage the reputation of the Big Fun-raiser initiative, participating organisations, or associated charities
Use of third-party platforms
The website may integrate with or rely on third-party platforms, including Strava for activity tracking and iDonate for fundraising.
By participating, you acknowledge and agree that:
- your use of Strava, iDonate and any other third-party platforms is subject to their own terms and conditions and privacy policies
- we are not responsible for the operation, availability or accuracy of data provided by those platforms
- we may rely on data provided by those platforms to display activity and fundraising progress, and we are not responsible for any errors, delays or discrepancies in that data

User content and data
Where you submit or share any content, activity data or fundraising information through the website or connected platforms, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate and not misleading
- you have the right to use and share that information
- it complies with these acceptable use terms
You must not upload, post or share any content that is rude, abusive, inflammatory, threatening, defamatory, obscene or otherwise inappropriate, or that promotes or contains discrimination, including on the basis of race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, disability, religion or any other protected characteristic. We reserve the right to remove or amend any content or data that does not comply with these terms.
Fair participation
Participants are expected to take part in the Big Fun-raiser initiative in good faith and in the spirit in which it is intended. You must not attempt to gain an unfair advantage, misrepresent your activity or fundraising, or otherwise undermine the integrity of the initiative.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- artificially inflating or manipulating activity data
- misrepresenting physical activity or participation
- misleading donors or others about fundraising activity or outcomes
We reserve the right to review participation and take appropriate action where we reasonably believe that activity or behaviour is inconsistent with the spirit of the challenge.
Suspension and disqualification
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the website, and where applicable, remove or reset your activity or fundraising records, if we reasonably believe that you have:
- breached these acceptable use terms
- submitted false or misleading information
- attempted to manipulate activity tracking or fundraising outcomes
- acted in a way that undermines the integrity of the initiative
We may take such action without prior notice where reasonably necessary.
Reporting concerns
If you become aware of any misuse of the website, inaccurate activity or fundraising data, or behaviour that may undermine the integrity of the initiative, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action: thebigfunraiser@marks-and-spencer.com.
